Observing 'Observing sessions':
LOCATION:
On the North Downs above Dorking we meet in the National Trust car park at Denbies field (also known as Steer’s field), on Ranmore Common Road. This site affords dark skies and a clear horizon to the south.
Telescopes are provided but you're welcome to bring your binoculars, 'scope or cameras too!
As these meetings are off-premises [i.e. not at Nonsuch High School for Girls-Cheam] they are attended at your own risk.
How to Get there
From the A24 heading south from Leatherhead turn right at Ashcombe, traffic signals onto the A2003 (signposted Guildford A25)
At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Ashcombe Road
Turn right onto Ranmore Road
Follow the road for about 1 mile
The NT car park is on the left just past a turning to the right.
